At present, Annette is the artistic director and choreographer of Pneumata. She worked as a freelance choreographer until she formed Pneumata Dance Productions in 1994. Believing that art is essentially the internal state being expressed externally, she finds it fulfilling to prioritise relationships in the company and to encourage a sense of freedom. This includes spending time in the preparation of the artists individually and corporately, working from a place of stillness and allowing space for personal expression. Annette’s hunger to explore new avenues in dance in conjunction with circus, underwater filming and the technical arts in particular, is reflected in the repertoire. She has a home in London and continues to further develop the work of Pneumata.

About King Cotton - written by Jimmy Mc Govern, directed by Jude Kelly OBE, September 2007 'King Cotton', a show about slavery in Southern States of America and the cotton mills of the North of England. Annette worked with the dramatic aerial and scaffolding work on this major show at The Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays, Manchester in September. This wasn't a show where choreographic input was asked for in dance form, so she worked with the spectacular aerial drowning and battle scenes as well as the development of character movement. Directed by Jude Kelly OBE, Chair of the Arts, Culture and Education for the Olympic Committee 2012, Artistic Director of the South Bank, written by BAFTA award winning Jimmy McGovern and starring John Henshaw.

further commendations of other works:
"Having been involved from the beginning with dance projects as diverse as Bob Fosse’ s musical motion picture ‘All That Jazz’ and Michael Flately’s ‘Lord of the Dance’, I feel qualified to say the initial production of ‘The Babylon Bridge’ was a stunning debut. The work would have been considered impactful and gifted had it appeared Off-Broadway. I think the show and it’s creator Annette Aubrey, if properly supported in its further development is onto a real winner...a global talent...world class choreographer."...Bill Tennant - Among many other credits to his name, Bill is a highly respected producer, former head of Columbia Pictures - the maker of many well known films and a voting board member for the Oscar ceremonies in America.
